The Translational Research Workshop is designed to inspire and empower researchers to bridge the gap between academic innovation and real-world application. This engaging event will provide valuable insights into programs and resources that facilitate the journey from research discovery to commercialization. Attendees will leave equipped with actionable strategies, resources, and connections to advance their research toward commercialization. This workshop is perfect for researchers, faculty, and innovators seeking to maximize the impact of their work. Please come for the sessions that interest you, but do not feel that you must be here for the entirety of the day.

- 10:00a-10:15a: Welcome
- Marouane Kessentini, dean of the College of Computing at GVSU, will set the stage with opening remarks and insights into the importance of research translation.
- 10:15a-11:15a: GVSU's Technology Commercialization Office - Your
Partner in Research Translation
- Linda Chamberlain, director of the GVSU Technology Commercialization Office, will provide a comprehensive overview of TCO’s services, including intellectual property strategy, securing translational funding, and licensing technologies to companies or startups. Attendees will gain practical guidance on how TCO supports faculty innovators through every step of the commercialization process.

- 12:00p- 12:30p: Lunch and MTRAC Introductions
- An introduction to the MTRAC Program and its five innovation hubs, supporting advanced materials, ag bio, advanced computing, life sciences, and advanced transportation.
- 12:30p-1:30p: MTRAC Program Innovation Hubs Overviews

- Participants can engage directly with MTRAC experts to discuss specific needs or opportunities.
- 2:00p-3:00p: NSF I-Corps - Unlocking Innovation with the Great
Lakes I-Corps Hub with Daniela Koniczek
- Daniela Koniczek, innovator outreach & development specialist at the University of Michigan, will introduce the Great Lakes I-Corps Hub and its programs, guiding participants in identifying the right program for their innovation stage. Key topics include customer discovery, application processes, and the benefits of the National I-Corps Program.
